Yesterday, Charlie Kirk, a loving father, husband, humble servant of God, a friend to many, and one of the most prominent and influential voices on the right, was assassinated in broad daylight for engaging and debating with college students. This abhorrent act occurred here in our beautiful state of Utah in front of thousands of college students from the area  at Utah Valley University.

Charlie leaves behind a legacy of fighting for truth and free speech for all across our nation. In his spirit, we will double down on our efforts to carry out what he set out to do at just 18 years old . From tabling to recruiting to holding events, we will double and  triple our efforts to ensure his mission is carried out. Now is a time to show we will not back down from this fight.

Many of you are feeling sadness, anger, and frustration over this atrocity. We hear you. We understand where you are coming from but we must channel that anger to push harder on campuses, empower more conservatives to get involved, and encourage our youth to be Children of God. We have to continue what Charlie started.

The Utah Federation of College Republicans promises swift and decisive action on campus. We must act now in continuing our efforts to bring Charlie's message to every college and university campus across this state. We will partner with any conservative group that chooses to be bold in this moment and do it in Charlie’s name.

We plead with you,  now is not the time to sit on the bench. We must act. We must become champions of dialogue and free speech. We must be principled in our beliefs. We need you to join Utah College Republicans to keep the conversation of Charlie, and all that he stood for, going.
