Statement on the LA Riots and ICE Raids
SALT LAKE CITY, UT –
The Utah Federation of College Republicans (UFCR) expresses its profound gratitude to President Donald J. Trump for his decisive action in deploying 2,000 National Guard troops to quell the lawlessness and chaos engulfing Los Angeles. The ongoing riots, fueled in part by unchecked illegal immigration, represent a grave threat to public safety, the rule of law, and our nation’s sovereignty. As young conservative leaders, we commend President Trump’s commitment to restoring order and protecting American communities.
The violence in Los Angeles underscores the urgent need for robust immigration enforcement. For too long, lax policies and sanctuary city practices have undermined our nation’s security, strained resources, and jeopardized the well-being of American citizens. We call for the immediate end to sanctuary city policies, the deportation of illegal entrants, and the strengthening of our borders to prevent further unrest. The safety and prosperity of our citizens must remain the top priority.
We applaud the swift mobilization of the National Guard under President Trump’s leadership, a critical step toward reestablishing peace in Los Angeles. This action sends a clear message: rioting, looting, and attacks on federal authority will not be tolerated. We also extend our appreciation to our brave Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, who work tirelessly to enforce our immigration laws despite facing significant resistance.
As the next generation of Republican leaders, the UFCR is dedicated to upholding the principles of limited government, personal responsibility, and national sovereignty. We will continue to advocate for policies that secure our borders, enforce our laws, and put Americans first. We urge all Americans to join us in supporting President Trump’s efforts to restore law and order and build a safer, stronger nation.
